Measured surveys

3D laser scanning, measured and topographical surveys

3D laser scanning captures a 3D replica of your property or asset, mapping it out using millions of points in a 3D environment called a ‘Point Cloud’. With over 10 years of experience in the field, laser scanning sits at the core of our service delivery, and we include it on the majority of our commissions, as it provides us with the confidence we need to make sure we’re delivering a high level of service.

When we’re asked for a fee proposal for a project that includes a measured (or topographical) survey, we’ll provide a quotation that includes this advanced surveying service.

We can also integrate the scanned data with GNSS (GPS) control points, to geographically locate and orient the scan data to the real world environment, in order to create topographical surveys. This allows us to blend the geospatial accuracy of GNSS data with the level of detail afforded by 3D laser scanning.

Our laser scanning service means we can deliver detailed:

  • Floor plans
  • Elevations
  • Building sections
  • Street scenes
  • Building height surveys
  • Content and detail for contractors’ ‘golden thread of information’

GNSS integration ensures precise site levels and building heights – which can be essential for making sure your project designs are as accurate as possible.

Our specialist laser scanning service can be used on a range of projects, including:

  • Extensions (one/two/more storeys)
  • Loft conversions and dormer extensions
  • Building height surveys
  • Conversion projects, including change-of-use
  • Building height surveys
  • Listed Building Consent and conservation area planning
  • Window replacement and capital works planning applications
  • Lease plans
  • In Terms of Zone ‘A’ (ITZA) drawings

We can also produce 3D models and visualisations to support designs and planning applications.
